Cradle of Human Kind, Sun City & Pilanesberg discovers cultural heritage and fossil sites, with game drives to explore the Big 5. The North-West province allows a traveller to explore a variety of rich cultural heritage and history, combined with wonderful nature and wildlife scenery. This tour includes a portion of Gauteng, where we visit The Cradle of Human Kind to muse about our origins. Play at the Sun City Resort and watch wildlife at Pilanesberg. Visit the Voortrekker Monument or the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
You now get the option to book for either the 4-star Cabanas accommodation, or the luxury 5-star Palace of the Lost City Hotel at the Sun City Resort!
Day 1: We pick you up at your hotel near O. R. Tambo International Airport and drive to The Cradle of Human Kind/Maropeng for a tour of a journey back in time from the start of our universe, some 14-billion years ago. We visit the Tumulus building to browse the interactive displays, have lunch (own cost) at the Tumulus restaurant and then go to the Sterkfontein Caves to see where world-acclaimed fossils were discovered. We overnight at the Cabanas or optional Palace of the Lost City Hotel at the Sun City Resort. Unlimited free access to the Valley of Waves, buffet breakfast included. (Lunch and dinner at own cost.) Day 2: We go to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, “The Volcano That Gave Birth to a Game Reserve” for a game drive where you will have opportunities to see the Big 5 in their natural habitat. We spend the rest of the day at the Sun City and Lost City Resorts. With hundreds of things to offer, you have a huge variety to do, from family fun to adrenaline-fueled adventures. Sun City has something for everyone to enjoy. We spend the night at the Cabanas or optional Palace of the Lost City Hotel at the Sun City Resort. (or similar). Unlimited free access to the Valley of Waves, buffet breakfast included. (Lunch and dinner at own cost.) (B)
Day 3: Starting with a game drive through the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, we leave the reserve on our way to the Hartbeespoortdam area, where we stop over at the Monate Citrus Cellar for a taste of home-brewed mampoer spirits. You will also have the opportunity to visit AFRICAN arts and craft stores for shopping. A visit to the Voortrekker Monument or Union Buildings is followed on your way back to the O.R. Tambo Airport, or you join us on another tour with Amatungulu Tours. (B)
You will be picked up at any of the following spots for the start of the tour between 8 am and 9 am:
1. O.R.Tambo Airport, 2. Gautrain Centurion Station, 3. Your centrally located hotel, 4. Home pick up
